Chanakya or Kautilya- you can call him by any name but his aura will remain there. He truly created history with "Arth-Shastra". Chanakya's chant is about this enigmatic person whom the world known as Kautilya. Chanakya was the mastermind who made Chadra Gupta Maurya the first true emperor of undivided India. Plenty of mind games, shrewd calculation and nasty politics were there. However, as they say all is fair in love and war and this was war.
Chanakya's chant is a book that builds up a great connection between the India of 340 BC and Today's India.
The curse of Chanakya and how today's Chanakya Gangasagar Mishra uses Chanakya's chant to support woman power is a thrilling story to read. Ashwin Sanghvi is one author who can write the historic stories with such brilliance that you can actually see the things happening in front of your eyes.
The journey of Chandra Gupta in 340 BC and the journey of Chandni Gupta to become the Prime Minister of Today's India- both stories are fascinating to say the least. It was a thrilling experience to experience the incidents happening in different time zone. Truly a page turner this book is and you just cannot wait to see what is happening.
Today's strategist Gangasagar Mishra follows Chanakya's path to make Chandni to omnipotent in India's industry. Power, corruption, back stabbing is there in every step just as it was in the 340 BC. Personally I liked the way Chandragupta played the game like chess more than what Gangasagar did in today's time. There are some places where Gangasagar's actions seem dramatic and illogical. On the other hand the chanakay's steps are written in a better and more composed way.
Love politics or hate it you surely are going to enjoy this book. The brutal face of politics and making loves like the game of chess is immense fun to read. This is a must read for all the book lovers for sure.
